The elected representatives of Hindus (minority) living in Sindh province of Pakistan have expressed grave concern on their insecurity in Pakistan as people of their community were being kidnapped for ransom and then either released on payment of ransom, the arrangements for which are made by police itself, their girls converted forcibly after being kidnapped and to face these challenges the Hindus have formed Pakistan Hindu Panchayet and made 3 committees for survey in each district. In this regard a seminar was held here at a local hotel which was attended among others by elected parliamentarians of Hindus including Mohan Lal Kohistani, provincial minister Mukesh Chawla, MNA Mahesg Malani, Khatoomal, Ramesh Kumar and others who in their speeches said that no minority girl ever converts to Islam with her own wish but they are kidnapped and then converted forcibly. They said this issue will be taken up in parliament. They said that to review atrocities against Hindus they have formed three committees the recommendations received from them will be taken up in Parliament. They demanded protection be given to them.
Meanwhile a subcommittee of human rights standing committee of Pakistani parliament held its meeting in Karachi in which the members condemned the acts of kidnapping of Hindu youth for ransom and girls for forcibly conversion and receiving chits for extortion, to damage their business and that no step by police to lodge FIR of crimes against minority Hindus. The members said if violence against Hindus did not stop they would be forced to migrate from Pakistan the subcommittee was chaired by Dr. Harish Kumar.Ex MPA Michael Javed, ex MPA Ishrat Khokhar, former MPA Dr.Ramesh Kumar, Comrade Amar Lal, Hotchand Motwani and additional inspector general crime police Muhammad Iqbal also participated in the meeting. After long discussion and consultation a 12 point recommendations list was handed over to Sindh government in which it was said that committees comprising scholars of all religions be made which should consider the grave situation of forcible conversion of minority girls and amendments be made in marriage laws. It demanded protection to minorities in Pakistan under article 16 and 17 of Pakistan.
